Who is responsible
Fryer Origination Ltd is responsible for the enquiry information described in this notice. Contact Charlie Fryer at charlie@fryerorigination.com or use the privacy request form. Please quote your enquiry reference where available.
Information you provide
We collect your name, email address, optional company name, enquiry type, the website page used and your message. You may also provide acquisition criteria, financial ranges, current targets, business objectives, adviser details, non-confidential document links, contact restrictions and requests for a secure exchange or NDA. We record internal follow-up notes, action dates and correspondence related to your enquiry. Please provide another person’s details only where you are entitled to do so.
Technical information
The form uses a submission reference to prevent duplicate records and a hash derived from connection information and the date to limit repeated submissions. The hash is stored with the enquiry; it is not a plain-text IP address. Hosting providers may also process security and operational logs. We do not use enquiry information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Why we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess relevant business introductions, keep correspondence organised and protect the website against misuse. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a business enquiry service and maintaining relevant business relationships. Where we take steps at your request towards a contract with you personally, we may rely on those pre-contractual steps. Legal obligations may require us to retain particular records. The form’s privacy acknowledgement is not consent to marketing.
You choose whether to submit an enquiry. The required fields allow us to understand and respond to it; without them, we may not be able to assist. Optional fields can be left blank. We do not automatically add enquirers to a mailing list.
Access and sharing
Charlie reviews enquiries through an owner-restricted inbox. Hosting and storage services process information to operate the website, currently through ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Website enquiry notifications are delivered through Resend to Charlie’s Microsoft 365 work mailbox. These providers process the enquiry to deliver and store the notification. A copy is retained in the private website inbox so an email delivery problem does not lose your enquiry.
Submitting a form does not automatically disclose your enquiry to a buyer or adviser. Before a proposed introduction, we agree the intended recipients, the purpose and what may be shared. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal rights. We do not sell enquiry details.
Processing locations
Our technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. You can use the privacy request form to ask about the locations and transfer arrangements applicable to your information. Confidential transaction documents should only be shared after the recipient, platform and applicable protections have been agreed.
How long we retain information
We keep enquiry information while it is needed for the discussion, agreed follow-up or related business records. Retention depends on whether the enquiry becomes an engagement, remains active, needs a future follow-up, or is required for accounting, legal obligations or a dispute. Closed enquiries should be reviewed for deletion or anonymisation when no longer needed; our operational target is a review within 12 months of the last meaningful contact. Longer retention needs a recorded reason. This is a review process, not an automatic deletion promise.
Your right to object
You can object to our use of your personal information where we rely on legitimate interests. Tell us about your circumstances using the privacy request form so we can assess the objection. If information is used for direct marketing, you can object to that use at any time.
Your other rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing already carried out. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing records. Use the privacy request form; you do not need to use specific legal wording.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and documents
Read our cookie information and document-sharing process. Initial enquiries must not include confidential transaction documents, passwords, identity documents or special-category personal data.
